Ecuador, 2009

We will be embarking on our first trip to South America on February 21, 2009. A group of 12 will be spending 10 days on the Galapagos Islands and 4 days on the mainland of Ecuador. I will attempt to post to this blog site each day, updating some images as we move from place to place.

Here's some links to places where we will be staying: Good luck with the place in Banos if you don't speak Spanish. They have no English version, but Connie speaks Spanish pretty well and I do enough to get in trouble. You can always look at the pictures! We're supposed to be doing white-water rafting and a bike trip down the Andes from Banos to Puyo. 12 kilometers DOWNHILL and then (thankfully) a $.40 bus ride BACK to where we started. I was a little worried about the return back up the mountain - but I'm told you can "throw your bike on top of the bus" and ride back. Sounds like fun!
