2016_03_25 AUCKLAND AND THEN TAHITI!

This will be an interesting day kind of like Groundhog day.  Because we will be crossing the international dateline this evening going to Tahiti we get to do the 25th twice.  Pretty cool.

This morning all have decided to sleep in a bit and meet for breakfast somewhere around 9:30.  Today is the last day for us with Paul and Ann and Paul and Laraine.  So we will be down to the original 6!  Sounds like the National Hockey League!

I'm going to go out in a bit to try and see the sunrise.  I guess not all of us are sleeping in!

So much for the sunrise!  A bit overcast but hopefully it will clear up later.  Since it is Good Friday many shops and restaurants may be closed.  Meeting the others for breakfast at 9:30.

We are staying in the Wynyard Quarter a former industrial area being redeveloped with apartments, hotels and shops.

Here's a daytime image of the North Wharf where we had our dinner last night.

The bridge was up to allow a boat through on my walk.

Note the huge size of this racing sloop.

Light breakfast this morning.  Pretty coffee and hot chocolate.  Connie has healthy kale smoothie.

The last breakfast with 10 at Sierra Coffee.

Just cleared customs in Papeete, Tahiti close to 2:00a.m.

Airport Hotel up that hill across the street from the airport.  Lots of steps!
